Workshop on "Gender Concept and Related Issues"

Mr. Qassem Jassim Hattab, Director of the Human Rights Department gave a lecture on the concept of gender, which refers to the social roles of women and men, which are determined according to the broadness of a society as roles, responsibilities, behaviors and values suitable for both men and women This society is the same, and therefore the roles vary from one society to another and from social and economic class to another, either they change from time to time within the same community has been used this concept at first in .the sense of "social relations of gender" and  then shortened to Gender only

The gender needs of the two types of meeting were discussed, including the practical and strategic needs, and the gender roles were explained by the role of the family, the productive role, the organizational role and the political representation. Finally, the gender issues were discusse.
